It looking more and more like a full cut of the upcoming Seattle Sounders documentary will be ready in time for the start of the 2013 season. In an email, "American Football" filmmaker Scott Levy said he's hoping to have it ready for screenings sometime in February.
Levy also notified me of a new cut of video available on his website to subscribers. The latest entry is called "Chapter 1" and includes the full version of Sigi Schmid's postgame speech following the Sounders 3-0 loss to Real Salt Lake in the first leg of the 2011 Western Conference semifinals. Most of the footage has previously been seen, including Schmid's interview about his relationship with his mother, but it has been cut together in a new way that probably gives us a better sense of what the final film will look and feel like.
Levy seems to have gathered all the footage he needs and the film will most likely cover events of the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
