It is the final tuneup of the January camp for the United States National Team as they face off against Canada in a friendly. With two rosters stocked with MLS players this is an opportunity for a few of the fringe guys to make their case for World Cup Qualifying when that play resumes on February 6th down in Honduras. While Eddie Johnson is not likely to be on the fringe, he does face competition for minutes at forward (or Jurgen could just play him as a mid again). Brad Evans and former Sounder Jeff Parke are on that bubble. This is their chance to prove that their training is not the aberration and they can bring on gameday, even if against a side that failed to make the Hex.
Whether or not Johnson and Evans make the United States national team roster for the Feb. 6 World Cup qualifier in Honduras, both should at least play in tonight's friendly against Canada. If they don't make the roster they will join the Seattle Sounders in Casa Grande. If they do make the team they will not be with the club until it returns to Seattle.
