Sounders v Galaxy will feature another new lineup from Seattle

Sigi Schmid said at practice that this will be MLS lineup 33 in 34 matches.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

After Saturday's practice Sigi Schmid indicated that he knows the lineup for Sunday, but the clues he gave the public were quite limited. He made it clear that Sunday's 6 PM ESPN match against the LA Galaxy will feature another new lineup.

"This is our 34th game and it will be our 33rd different lineup, so nothing has changed that way," the coach said.

One of the biggest unknowns is about the keeper. There are still no public indications as to whether Gspurning or Hahnemann will start.

Two players will likely be held out of the match to heal prior to the must wins of the MLS Cup Playoffs. If Sunday was a must win Leo Gonzalez would play, but it is not and so he's out. Obafemi Martins' status is a bit more complicated. He may be able to play tomorrow or he may not be available next week.

"We wanted to go easy with him today," Sigi said of Martins. "He had some treatment yesterday, so we wanted to see a day of rest for him."

Dempsey's shoulder still could be an issue, but that will only come up based on how he lands after a tackle. Djimi Traore is back to health and could start. Eddie Johnson is healthy.

An attempt at a projected lineup

Johnson
Dempsey Rosales
Neagle
Evans
Alonso Yedlin
Burch
Traore Hurtado
Hahnemann

It's a guess, and could be very wrong depending most on the Johnson/Evans/Neagle situations.
