Sounders will again preseason in Arizona

While details are sparse so far, at least one game is public knowledge. Seattle will face Portland in Tucson, Arizona.

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

One of the many things that happens during the offseason is that the plans for the preseason start coming together. During yesterday's Chivas USA v FC Tucson match unveiling the new stadium FC Tucson announced the MLS sides that will be spending some time in their facilities. Seattle Sounders FC is one of those.

This will be a preseason friendly between Portland Timbers FC and Seattle Sounders FC and is not part of the Desert Diamond Cup. It is about three weeks prior to the Carolina Challenge Cup when Seattle will be visiting South Carolina for the first time.

So far the known preseason opponents are Portland, Houston, D.C. and Charleston. As that would be a rather light schedule expect more news to come.

The length and timing of Seattle's Arizona swing is unknown at this time. More details will be released as they become made public.

In past years Seattle has preseasoned in Washington, Florida, California, Arizona, Mexico, Spain and Argentina.
