The MLS Cup Playoffs are a crazy event where two teams visit each others' houses and try to end dreams. Home field means little. It is the Playoff most prone to luck, randomness and good fortune. They are what they are. Tonight, Seattle Sounders FC look to join history and end the dreams the Caleb Porter led Portland Timbers. They do so down a goal that they gave up during leg one.
Leg two must be different. Sigi Schmid's lineup choices will matter a bit, but more importantly will a team stacked with talent perform up to the level expected of themselves and blow the Glass House down? Wide spaces must be defended. Goals must be scored. Clint, Oba and Eddie must be themselves, not their recent shells. It is time for Portland to get out of the way.
