Eddie Johnson will apparently be leaving town in style. The former Seattle Sounders forward has announced via Instragram that he'll be having a going away party on Saturday at a downtown Seattle nightclub.
There's no further details on the party at the club's website (but there is a loud autoplay video so be aware of that if you happen to be at work or somewhere else where dance music blaring from your computer might not be appreciated), so it's not entirely clear if this is a private event or a public one. What we do know is that Johnson doesn't appear to be planning to go quietly into the night.
So far, Johnson has remained relatively quiet on social and traditional media ever since his trade to D.C. United was announced. While it was widely speculated that he'd leave a trail of fire behind him as he rode off to his new team, he has not made any public attempts to give his version of what may have happened that led to his leaving the Sounders.
Maybe that's how it will stay...
