Saviola and Montero in Continental Championship Play - Open Thread

New, 30 comments

Today in soccer both the Copa Libertadores and UEFA Champions League are taking place. Both could see action by people with Sounders connections as a current Sounder (Montero) and future? one (Saviola) are active.

Saviola is not starting, but is likely to play.

If you get a Fox Sports Net affiliate (Root Sports in Seattle is carrying it) or Fox Soccer + (in middle of a nine day free trial on most providers) you can watch Porto and Malaga in the UEFA Champions League action at 11:45 AM for kickoff. While Javier Saviola is not starting, there is a decent chance he gets some play as they should need goals. Take a chance to see a possible future Sounder.

Later (4:30PM), Fredy Montero will take the pitch for Millonarios as they play Tijuana's Xolos in Copa Libertadores action. Montero is ripping apart Colombian League opponents (which was expected, he's done that before), but this is the challenge that drew him to the loan move. How can he do against on of Liga MXs greats? This is a home match for Millos and they need these points.

Feel free to comment on any and all international club action in this open thread.
