Sales of 2013 MLS single match tickets opened to the general public at 10 AM Pacific today. As in seasons past there will be a mini-package with major rivals and an open stadium. That package is not yet available. Today is only about single game tickets to regular season games.
Season tickets are slightly off last year's pace, but that's not to say there are many seats available in the standard configuration of the stadium for MLS games. If you want to catch only a few games in decent seats act quickly.
That screen grab for the March 16th Portland Timbers match shows just how limited seating is at this time for that key early season match. It was taken at 10:02 AM so there are almost certainly fewer seats left now.
Joe Roth and other front office types indicated that they will maintain their goals of setting new records for attendance at American soccer events. Early indications are that they are off to a good start.
