Obafemi Martins has confirmed over Twitter that he is leaving Levante and signing with the Seattle Sounders. This comes on the heels of Levante announcing that Martins had paid his exit fee and been released by the team. The last piece of the puzzle is for the Sounders to confirm the move themselves.
Wow..Finally,I can now announce that I have just signed for Sounders FC..A big step to take in my career.it's a big challenge but I'm ready

After a week of virtual silence, the news has been coming fast and furious on Monday. Reports suggest he'll be flying to Seattle on Tuesday. He'll then have to receive his visa and international transfer certificate before he's eligible to join the Sounders. Further delaying his potential debut is that he's been called up to Nigeria's national team for a World Cup qualifier against Kenya on March 23.
The best-case scenario probably involves Martins making his debut on March 30 against Real Salt Lake.
