When it comes to the Galaxy, I just don't know what their deal is.
On the one hand, they look unstoppable. I was thoroughly impressed by their comprehensive 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City team this past weekend. Sure Kansas City was coming off a short week, and I know Peter Vermes when with the same XI. However, the Galaxy looked comfortable in defense (SKC only managed two shots on target) and plenty dangerous on the counter.
On the other hand, you can never count on anyone playing week in and out. Especially with Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan, both of whom have injury concerns heading into this weekend's match. With either of these guys, you're constantly checking to see if they'll be able to take the field. Ain't nobody got time for that!
When I went to make my two changes this week, I contemplated going for Keane. In the end, I only added one Galaxy player: Carlo Cudicini, GK ($5.4) (I already have Mike Magee ($8.8) on the roster.) It came down to a philosophical decision: I just don't believe you should spend $10 million for a striker. When you look at the highest performers this season -- both in terms of total points scored and points per game played -- it's the defenders topping the list. Four of the top five top overall scorers in this season's game are defenders-and three of them cost $5.8 or less.

With that in mind, I'm sticking with a forward trio that's been working for me so far-Earnshaw, Bieler, and Oduro. Bieler's next for the chopping block, but I'm still not sure I want to sacrifice the $1.2 million it would take to bring on Keane.
What do you think? Did anybody add Keane or Donovan this week? Have you adjusted your rosters to play five defenders?
Upcoming Bye Weeks:
FC Dallas, D.C. United and the Chicago Fire all have byes on Cinco De Mayo weekend. That shouldn't be a problem for most people, considering you probably only have players from one of these teams.

I may not be doing super-well in the MLSsoccer fantasy game, but things are looking up over on the ESPN platform. The Real Fudge Brownie Pieces (thanks Likkit for the name) are currently clocking in at 15th overall. While I believe participation in the ESPN Fantasy MLS game is down as users migrate over to MLSsoccer, I am still really proud of this (even if the rest of the season goes poorly).

It's DamagedGoods' world - we're just living in it. He is seriously putting a hurt on the rest of the league. He also played a 5-4-1 this past weekend -- maybe we should learn from him?
