David Estrada returns from eye injury

During the week David Estrada took the pitch in a Reserve League match and the scrimmage. Sounder at Heart chatted with him between those two games.

After missing a couple weeks of training and matches due to an eye injury suffered in the loss to Real Salt Lake forward David Estrada is back on the pitch fully cleared to practice and play. He would put in minutes in both the Reserve win over San Jose and the scrimmage against the U23s. Sounder at Heart talked to him on a training day between the two matches.

How does it feel to get back into competitive play?

It feels good to not have any restrictions. In training there was always this awareness that I could not head the ball and the other guys had to know that they could go full in because any kind of knock to my head was kind of dangerous, but I got the clearance that day, in the morning, and it was good to just run around and touch the ball again.

Does your eye feel fine now?

Yeah, if feels find. The first couple days when I would move around the eye would go blurry, but now it feels good. I'm excited to be back in full training.
