This is going to be fun. Eleven teams play two matches this week, meaning it's exceedingly feasible for everyone to break the 100-point mark this week. For those who haven't used their wildcard, maybe this is the week to liquidate it and assemble and All Star team.

When I set my roster this week I loaded up on FC Dallas defenders, thinking they have the easiest schedule with Portland and D.C. United at home. Not so! I did a little research and it turns out RSL, NY, and San Jose have the easiest rows to hoe, defensively.

For each of the 11 teams that play twice, I added up their opponents' cumulative goals for and goals against on the season. While it isn't an exact science (does not account for games played, home/away advantages), some interesting insights emerged.

Based on that list, I put together of the best matchups (defensively and offensively) to help guide your decision making. I am also including a list of players I like this week. (Not that I can use any of them, of course -- I'm scrambling to the gap from DeAndre Yedlin's red card.)

Toughest defensive schedules (most opp. GF)

  1. D.C. United
  2. Portland
  3. (tied) Montreal, New England

Easiest defensive schedules (fewest opp. GF)

  1. (tied) Real Salt Lake, New York, San Jose

Toughest offensive schedules (fewest opp. GA)

  1. (tied) Real Salt Lake, New York
  2. Sporting Kansas City

Easiest offensive schedules (most opp. GA)

  1. (tied) FC Dallas, Portland
  2. (tied) Houston, Montreal, New England

Take a look at: Raul Fernandez, Nick Rimando, Jon Busch, Matt Hedges/Michel, Aurelien Collin, Chris Schuler/Tony Beltran, Jose Goncalves, Justin Morrow, Will/Ryan Johnson, Chris Wondolowski (I have a hunch he's ready to go on a tear), Blas Perez, Giles Barnes/Will Bruin, Marco Di Vaio

Stay away from: George John and Andrew Jacobson (came off injured last week), Jamison Olave/Thierry Henry (age concerns), Brandon Barklage/Roy Miller (possible rotation), Portland defenders (no Silvestre + tough schedule), RSL attackers (no Saborio + tough schedule)

My captain's choice: Aurelien Collin

Leaderboard:

DamagedGoods continues to hold the overall #1 spot with 728 points. Sad Lonely Swede's 93 saw him move up a few spots to #3.
