Mario Martinez officially called by Honduras

After one of his best matches as a Sounder the long rumored call to his National Team was made official.

As has occurred so often in Mario Martinez' Seattle Sounders career the midfielder was agains called up by Honduras for their round of June World Cup Qualifying matches. Though gone through the 18th Seattle's schedule is such that Martinez will miss only a single match. But that match against the Vancouver Whitecaps is one already hit with several other losses.

While facing Costa Rica, Jamaica and the United States Martinez will miss several training sessions with the Sounders. If he performs well his value on the market will continue to increase. His loan to the Sounders ends shortly after the June 22nd match at Salt Lake. The purchase price on his loan with option to buy is supposedly low, so Seattle exercising their right to buy would not be a surprise.

The Sounders will be without Brad Evans, Eddie Johnson, Shalrie Joseph, Obafemi Martins, Osvaldo Alonso, Mario Martinez and Steve Zakuani for the Saturday game that is the first of their Four Match Pack in 2013.
