Once upon a time Jordan Morris wasn't in the Academy. Instead he was just a great high school junior who won the state player of year award. As a senior he left high school, moved to become a forward and then the year got exciting. His 27 goals in 28 regular season games helped him earn the recognition of the US Soccer Development Academy as the best player in his age group. Morris also saw time with the Sounders Reserves both this season and last.

He will be at Stanford next year and facing new challenges, but the growth curve over the last 18 months going from relative unknown to fringe National Team talent and Player of the Year shows just how bright his future can be.

Connor Adkisson was named to the West's Starting XI, joining Morris in that recognition. Adkisson moves on to college at Regis College in Colorado in the Fall.

Both will be at Finals Week trying to earn the Sounders Academy its first national title. They face Alberston SC, the Whitecaps and Red Bulls in a winner take all group to advance to the Championship Game at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
