Evans should be available, other health news poor

The official injury report from the league is often vague, but it is clear this week as a full 10 players are listed with eight being out.

Sigi Schmid indicated that Brad Evans will either be in the XI or available on the bench. That's the extent of the good news. The other 10 players are basically out, though Djimi Traore could heal miraculously. Eight are listed as out.

QUESTIONABLE: MID Evans (L rib contusion) DEF Traore (L hamstring strain)

OUT: MID Caskey (R ankle impingement) GK Ford (R patella fracture) GK Gspurning (L forearm sprain) GK Hahnemann (R hamstring strain) MID Joseph (R calf strain) MID Lund (R plantar fasciitis) MID Rose (R hamstring strain) MID Zakuani (athletic pubalgia)

Hahnemann will actually work pregame on TV.

"Djimi is probably still not able to go at this stage, should be ready for next week," Schmid said. "Brad is somebody we'll decide whether he's on the bench or in the starting lineup, but he'll be in the 18."

Altogether it assures another new lineup and odd circumstances for Sunday's 2 PM Reserve Game where only Rose looks like he could be able to play of the injured players. Two healthy outfield players will not be in the 18 and Doug Herrick is likely to be the pool keeper on the bench Saturday.

There are some trialists around and not just college types, but that's only help for Sunday.

Saturday's roster is going to be a bit haphazard. While the XI will be close to normal, the bench will not have many tactical options.
