Brad Evans, Eddie Johnson only MLS players called up for United States vs. Bosnia friendly

New, comments

Roster is a bit of a mish-mash between first-time call-ups and A-teamers.

As expected, Eddie Johnson and Brad Evans were both named to the United States roster for the Bosnia-Herzegovina friendly on Wednesday. They were the only two MLS players to be named to the team.

Looking at the roster, it's tough to find a true pattern. Among the 23 players called in, four of them have yet to make an appearance for the United States. Among them are recently declared Americans forward Aron Johannsson and defender John Anthony Brooks. Goalkeeper Cody Cropper and forward Bobby Wood could also earn their first senior-team caps.

The only true A-teamers to get the call were Tim Howard, Michael Bradley Jermaine Jones and Jozy Altidore. Fabian Johnson and Danny Williams could also be potentially considered A-teamers.

Eddie Johnson was the only player who started the past three World Cup qualifiers and was called into the Gold Cup that was called in this time.
