Major Link Soccer: CCL Scores, Sounders Addiction

Also, how to brew your own beer inside the stadium!

Last night saw a pair of CCL games, with three MLS clubs in action. San Jose was on the ropes after failing to score for more than two games, but managed a trio of goals against Montreal for a 3-0 win. Now they need the Impact to beat Herediano so that the bay-area club can move on. In the other match, Kansas City scored late to keep themselves lossless in their group and avoid what would have been an upset from Real Esteli of Nicaragua.

Tonight the LA Galaxy take on Isidro Metapan. Fox Sports 2 has the action at 7 PM. The Galaxy will be without Donovan and De La Garza. It is LA's 2nd match within the group.

It isn't always easy to put into words just what makes Sounders gameday special. "Everyone stands" and "some people sing for the whole match" doesn't resonate with everyone who hasn't seen it themselves. Leave it to a "culture" writer to put the experience into words everyone can understand.

In a moment of genius, Columbus' graphics department made the player introductions for the visiting team enjoyable, specifically when one Clint Dempsey was displayed. Deuce indeed.

The Washington Huskies (or "Purple Sounders", as named by another contributor here) are ranked second in NCAA by SBI's top 25 rankings. Cal came it at number one, while Sounders Academy product Sean Okoli saw his Wake Forest Demon Deacons rank 13th.

With stadium security being how it is, patrons aren't allowed to bring in their own alcoholic beverages. BUT WAIT! Why bother with stale beer or overpriced cups when you can brew it yourself in stadium! Just coax some yeast to take up residence in your stomach, bring a bagel, and watch as your blood-alcohol level suddenly skyrockets!
