Will Thierry Henry play?

Probably not. The Frenchman hates FieldTurf and it seems the hate is so deep he's been willing to cost his team points.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Once courted by two different MLS teams that play on artificial surfaces as a New York Red Bulls player Thierry Henry avoids Turf. He is worried about injury, a situation that is more emotional than factual, but his worry is actually costing his team points.

Sure, he hasn't played a match in Seattle yet, but he also has not had many opportunities due to the unbalanced schedule. Henry has also avoided playing at Vancouver and at New England. Only Portland get graced by the presence of Prince Henry.

Whether he will play Sunday is unknown. Outside of Seattle Sounders FC he's mainly avoided playing poor to average MLS sides. Looking at his gamelog at you can see just how often he's avoided the surface and the record of his club as he gives up on them.

Where Minutes Goals Assists Shots Result
at NER unused sub Draw 1-1
at PTFC 90 0 0 4 Draw 3-3
at NER unused sub Draw 1-1
at NER unused sub Loss 0-2
at VWFC unused sub Draw 1-1
at IMFC unused sub Win 2-1
at NER unused sub Draw 2-2
at SSFC unused sub Loss 2-4
at PTFC 90 1 1 2 Draw 3-3
at VWFC unused sub Draw 1-1

That's a 1-2-5 record in games he's skipped. Again, most of those teams are below league average.

The Supporters' Shield is on the line, but history seems to indicate that Red Bull will be without their perennial MVP candidate. They are already going to be down several players due to injury. They may be down an additional man due to fear.
