United States at Costa Rica - Gamethread

With Clint Dempsey as Captain the USA will attempt to secure its spot in Brazil 2014.

The United States could possibly clinch its spot at the next World Cup when they take on Costa Rica in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying. Seattle Sounders FC will be repped by Clint Dempsey who again wears the captain's armband. Showing his constant role flexibility he starts as the lone forward in a 4-2-3-1 per US Soccer.

This could be seen as a test for the band of three as at least one will not be starting when the Americans are fully healthy and Dempsey drops back into the midfield and Altidore returns to a starting spot.

Tonight's match is on BeIN USA, but not available for those on Comcast as they only care the Spanish version of the channel (but with English language play-by-play). Those on Dish and Direct TV should get the 7 PM kickoff.

This is fun to say so we'll say it again - Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Clint Dempsey is the captain of the United States in a match that could clinch a trip to Brazil. It is his 100th CAP with the USMNT.
