With about 100 fans in attendance Seattle Sounders FC opened their 2014 training camp with a morning session that featured several small sided games. The afternoon session featured fitness followed by finishing drills.
Leo Gonzalez had a surgery but is expected to be fully participating during the Carolina Challenge Cup.
Wil Bates is carrying a minor knock.
Oba expects his experience with learning new forward partners will help him during the preseason.
He was mum about looking for a loan - "I think right now I'm not going to talk about anything right now because I'm back in Seattle."
There is no number one keeper, yet. Stefan Frei said, "I'm going to try to learn as much from Hahneman as I can he's played for some top teams in the world with tons of experience so I'll watch him."
He also knows what's going on over in Toronto. "I've heard they made a couple of changes. That's nothing new over there. I'm sure they'll be a good team. They have a couple new faces, just like here. Preseason is really the time to get to know each other and gel and work hard hard to get ready for the season and I'm sure they're doing the same thing over there."
During the fitness session Aaron Kovar paced off of David Estrada.
In the partnered finishing drills Oba chipped one of the keepers - IN A FINISHING DRILL.
There are a couple more trialists in camp than we previously knew. We'll have profiles on them shortly. Oh, one was not revealed to the media.
This depth chart lists Lowe on the roster as he has a contract. All draftees without contracts and other trialists are listed in the fourth block. This will be maintained through the preseason.
