Sounders healthy ahead of Supporters' Shield deciding series

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Sounders will be about as close to full strength as they've been all year for the first of two games against the LA Galaxy on Sunday. Clint Dempsey is "feeling fine" after being a bit under the weather, while Gonzalo Pineda and Zach Scott were full participants in training, according to the Tacoma News-Tribune.

"It just take a couple of days to get over that," Schmid said about Dempsey. "It was probably the traveling and everything else. [Pineda] has trained all week, so that's been a good thing for him getting confidence with the injury that he had, so he feels that he's pretty much over that, so we're confident with him and with Zach Scott that they're ready to go this weekend. (Pineda) has obviously been a very important part of our midfield this season, so we've missed him the last few games he hasn't been there."

In the first meeting between the two teams -- which the Galaxy won 3-0 -- the Sounders were missing Chad Marshall, Leo Gonzalez and Brad Evans. The Galaxy took advantage repeatedly and raced out a 3-0 lead after just 36 minutes, basically throwing it into neutral for the rest of the way.
