The Seattle Sounders will be attempting to move one step closer to history on Sunday, and they'll be doing it at home in front of a crowd expected to be around 50,000. The Sounders currently trail the LA Galaxy 1-0 in the aggregate-goal series. Due to the away-goals tiebreaker, the Sounders would need to win by two goals to advance without penalties and the only score that can force overtime is a 1-0 Seattle victory.
If the Sounders advance, their hopes of becoming the first MLS team to win the treble will be one step away from becoming reality. They've already won the U.S. Open Cup and Supporters' Shield -- just the second team in league history to accomplish that particular double -- and would then host the MLS Cup final on Dec. 7.
The Galaxy, too, are attempting to make their own history. They are trying to become the first team to win five MLS Cups, which would give them two Supporters' Shield and three MLS Cups in the past five years.
