April showers bring Portland pain.

March was adequate. April on the other hand was amazing. For most clubs starting a month with a 4-4 draw could be considered worrisome, particularly after March did what March did. Most clubs wouldn't have had to come from two goals back on the road to their biggest rival.

It was the Clint Dempsey show down at Providence Park that day. There were more than 1000 Sounders fans in attendance at the most "feels like a win" result in MLS Sounders history.

Cross to Oba, little touch to Clint and a purely "how did he do that finish." It was the first time it happened in 2014. It would not be the last. Kenny Cooper and a Demps-trick - never had a bus ride home from Portland felt so great, even if I did get news that my wife's horse threw her while I sitting on that bus.

Seattle continued their road trip and amazing comebacks with a trip down to Frisco, Texas. FC Dallas would suffer at the feet of the man they once helped train. Sounders FC fell behind a goal (odd bouncey ball moment), then Dempsey scored. They fell behind another goal (Michel dance party) and Dempsey created an own goal. Then Dempsey finished his brace with the winner. At the time Dallas dominated the league. That ended because Deuce can tread.

I'm feeling good. More importantly, we got the win today. It wasn't pretty. I thought Dallas played really well. We've got to work on some things, but I thought we showed a lot of character coming back twice in the game, and ultimately getting the win so that's a good thing to build upon. We'll sharpen up and get better. -

At this point the Sounders are 3-2-1 +2 and undefeated on the road. Clint is unsatisfied.

The Goats are the next victim. Chivas RIP hosted a Seattle side that still couldn't take a lead. It was another PK, and that damn trend is probably the negative of April. Torres did his robot, and from that point forward Chivas USA struggled. Seattle went to other heads on the hydra since they stopped Dempsey. Neagle and Martins were unconcerned - both scored.

Leo Gonzalez is a kind and gentle soul.

Even with this amazing start on the road there was still a bit of a bad taste from 2013. Colorado showed a weakness in the Rave Green. Young speed could cause issues for a team with a few older defenders and one young one that ranges forward often.

There is a wonderful way to wash negative feelings out - go full hydra. Dempsey scored a brace. Lamar and Oba added another. Magic took place that day, forcing Colorado to re-evaluate life, the universe and everything. It was a 4-1 result and the month was nearly perfect.

If there is one thing that April taught us it is that heroes were in front of us. They could fly, spin, shoot, pass. April told us how good the Sounders could be.

3-0-1 with a plus 5 goal differential. Clint Dempsey scored seven times. Martins and Neagle both scored twice.

It started with Portland's pain, it ended with the sorrow of 2013 washed mostly away.
