Cubo Torres returning to MLS, but team still unknown

Erick "Cubo" Torres is returning to Major League Soccer, but it won't be for six months and where he's going remains unclear. Although MLS has not issued any official statements on the matter, Chivas de Guadalajara put out a statement this morning confirming the transfer -- rumored to be in the $7.5 million range -- and the timeline.

The big question, though, remains "for which MLS team will Torres play?"

Earlier reports suggested Torres wanted to play for the LA Galaxy or Seattle Sounders. But both teams reportedly balked at the transfer fee, and may well have also been reluctant to take Torres several months after the season has already started.

The latest report suggests the Houston Dynamo are currently the favorites to land Torres. The Dynamo appear to be undergoing a bit of a rebuilding project with the departure of several veterans and head coach Dominic Kinnear. Torres would be a young player around whom the Dynamo could build and likely feel as though they can wait for his arrival.
