Major Link Soccer: Arizona bound

If everything goes right, the entire SoDo district will be packing up shop come February, and moving it all to Phoenix

I really REALLY want to knock out this article. It's after midnight and I've barely got a thing down. Marshawn Lynch keeps stiff-arming my synapses until I find myself watching more pointyball highlights. The Legion of Boom has every inch of my keyboard covered. I can only type what they want me to type. I'm a slave to their will. I am Ryan Lindley.

Hey guys, you have any more of them Seahawks highlights? (scratch scratch)

Seattle

When the Seahawks won last night, they gave themselves a very good chance to never have to go on the road in the playoffs. That team has lost once at home in the postseason in the history of Centurylink Field. The Seattle Mariners will be reporting for Spring Training at about the same time in preparation for their regular season.

As will the Seattle Sounders.

And I guess the Seattle Storm want to come too.

The awards season isn't over until ECS has had their say, and on Saturday they released their video of 2014 "Fun Awards." John Strong supplies one particularly memorable entry (as does a certain beverage platter.)

Our sister blog The Goat Parade seems to have left MLS quite smitten with former Sounders loanee Eriq Zavaleta, liking the progress he made as a reserve CB for Chivas USA. The young player is currently without an MLS club.

Determined to find a home in the city of New York, NYCFC has ruled out the Bronx and is now focusing its search on Queens and Brooklyn. A preferred location near Yankee Stadium was shot down when a new mayor was elected, and the original destination in Flushing Meadows fell apart thanks to more political machinations. If only if only...

It has been six years since the Sounders organization put together what was objectively one of the best expansion teams ever. Orlando City is now navigating those same waters, and have some worthy talent to build around and compliment.

On Friday, the Chicago Fire made the signing of David Accam official. The young DP will be expected to mesh with fellow strikers Mike Magee and Quincy Amarikwa right away.

After a lengthy stay at the top (try seven years), the USWNT has been ousted by Germany in the most recent FIFA rankings. According to Soccerly, the Red, Whiten and Blue has slipped all the way to fourth.

FIFA is supposedly ready to publish an "appropriate" version of Michael Garcia's report on the bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, which presumably means less redacted. Don't expect much to change though.

It has been a bad few weeks for fans of sports and also natural electricity. We reported on the Peruvian player getting shocked during a game, but yesterday seven NFL fans were struck by lightning after the Green Bay Packers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To top it all off, the OKC Thunder are 13-15 and looking up at the playoffs. All of my tears...

The money Trinidad and Tobago made from hosting a Women's World Cup qualifier could have paid for a recent US trip 500 times over.

After a storied 14-year career, French veteran Eric Abidal is hanging up the cleats and calling it a career.

The first season of the Indian Super League has ended, but not without some drama.

What life must be like for the superstars of modern society, able to just build statues of themselves in their home towns n a whim. Like Cristiano Ronaldo.
