Yedlin to head to Tottenham in mid-December

DeAndre Yedlin has likely played his last game for the Sounders and is expected to report to his new London-based team Tottenham Hotspur.

With regards to DeAndre Yedlin and Tottenham's ambiguous buy-and-loan deal from the Seattle Sounders, there were some fans who were hoping he'd be able to stick around through at least some of the 2015 season. Today Adrian Hanauer essentially put that to rest.

The inclusion of "work permit" in that quote would cast into doubt the urgency in obtaining a Latvian passport, which was long rumored to be Yedlin's ticket into England. But it's unknown as of now whether Yedlin will be getting that permit based on merit or whether he actually got the passport.

Nonetheless, it would appear that Yedlin played his last game for the Sounders in the 2-1 victory over the Galaxy in the MLS Cup playoffs. As per the current CBA, Seattle will not retain Yedlin's MLS right due to receiving a transfer fee from Tottenham. Should the Seattle-native return to MLS, he would be subject to allocation order.

The young defender was a revelation for Seattle, bursting onto the scene as the Sounders first Home Grown Player. He was a MLS All Star, played for the USA in the 2014 World Cup, and was even named today as USSF's Young Male Player of the Year.
