2014 - Offensive Player of the Year

There were many heads to the hydra, but which one was the most powerful.

As the annual Sounder at Heart community awards continue we move on to the category that is most easily evaluated statistically. Looking at goals and assists the value of an offensive (attacking) player can be fairly easily evaluated.

Last season Eddie Johnson won the recognition from the community with more than 50% of the vote. Prior to that Fredy Montero took the award three times, with Mauro Rosales winning once. That will assure that a new winner is declared in 2014.

While the hydra had many heads, here are the four that had the largest impact on Seattle's best offense yet.

Player All Comps Goals All Comps Assists MLS Passing % MLS Key Passes per Game
Clint Dempsey 17 10 85.0% 1.6
Obafemi Martins 19 15 72.3% 1.9
Lamar Neagle 9 10 73.2% 0.9
Marco Pappa 7 8 79.6% 1.4

Hail Hydra
