Sounders sit out wild trade window

If you just happened to get onto your computer a few minutes ago, you may want to buckle up: There's a lot of news you need to catch up on. None of it affects the Seattle Sounders directly -- they were one of the teams to sit out the two-hour trade window opening -- but the landscape around them has changed quite a bit.

The Portland Timbers, most notably and relevantly to our interests, officially acquired Nat Borchers, signed Ghanian goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey and also picked up Colombian winger Dairon Apsrilla. Sporting Kansas City, our new conference foe, dealt away Aurilien Collin and CJ Sapong. Orlando City SC and New York City FC are both looking like fully fledged teams, acquiring several veterans by splashing around Allocation Money like nobody's business. You can read about everything that happened here.

This is all a precursor to the announcement of the protected lists, which need to be submitted by 11 a.m. our time and will hopefully be announced sometime relatively soon after that.
