2014 Sounders broadcast schedule features 14 nationally televised matches

Although the Seattle Sounders announced that they were moving their locally broadcast games to Q13/JoeTV back in January the details of how that would look were still a bit unknown. Until now.

The Sounders released their full broadcast schedule on Monday, revealing that Q13 would care nine of the games and JoeTV (over the air on channel 22) would carry another 12. In addition to the games, Q13 Fox Sports will produce two 30-minute specials during the season and there will be a weekly Sounders feature at the end of every Friday episode of "Q It Up Sports."

In addition to the locally broadcast games, the Sounders are scheduled for 14 national television appearances, including the game against Toronto FC on March 15 that will be shown locally on Q13. That game will likely feature the 2014 debuts of Michael Bradley and Jermain Defoe. The start time of that game was also moved from 7 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. NBC Sports Network has seven of the nationally televised games, ESPN2 has four, ESPN has one and NBC will have two (Sept. 20 at New York Red Bulls and Oct. 25 vs. LA Galaxy). From July 13 to Aug. 16, the Sounders will have five consecutive games broadcast nationally.
