The new year brings some new wrinkles in the MLS Fantasy game, but before we get to any of that, here is the link to sign up your squad: Here, RIGHT HERE.
(You shouldn't need the league code, but just in case here it is: 11235-1923.)
So, the big changes to this year's game first.
- You start with $120 million, up from $100m.
- However, you have to spread that across 18 players now, instead of 15 (2 goalkeepers, 6 defenders, 6 midfielders, and 4 forwards).
- No more automatic substitutions. (!)
For more information, check out Part 1 of the seven-part intro from Ben Jata at the league website. Brad Evans is currently featured in the league's series of fantasy videos.
Finally, here are some additional modifications for the 2014 season.
- No Vice-Captain anymore, only Captains.
- Defenders cost a lot more this year. No more grabbing solid defenders at a relative discount compared to middies and forwards.
- Fantasy ends after the regular season.
- Four players max from each team.
- No penalty will apply to
Will Bruinplayers who miss a big chance. - You are issued 1 wildcard at the start of the season.
- Two points for earning a penalty.
- One point for causing an opponent's own goal.
Good luck! Rosters lock down March 8 at 2:45 PM ET, so get to it! See you all on the fantasy pitch.
