Sigi Schmid indicated earlier this week that Seattle Sounders FC would split their time 60/30, but did not say whether his First or Second XI would get the start against the Portland Timbers. Both Brad Evans and DeAndre Yedlin are back from their time with the United States, but also do not need the fitness push so they may not play tonight at all. Steve Zakuani is not expected to play against his former team this evening.

Tonight's match is at the Kino Sports Complex stadium and will have a crowd.

Here's a few things to follow;

  1. Cooper and Oba's partnership. Oba should be higher more often.
  2. High Pressure - the two previous preseason matches saw Seattle use full-field pressure more than in past seasons.
  3. Trialists - the chances are low that one is a difference maker, but there are three roster slots open, so a couple probably get signed. There are now 3 unsigned draftees plus 8 trialists in camp.
