So late Saturday night/Sunday morning while you were probably asleep, the president of the San Jose Earthquakes got into a fight with the Emerald City Supporters account on Twitter. The two went back and forth for nearly two hours, with various other participants joining in the fray as well.
There are plenty of highlights and we've done my best to pick some of the best ones, but we encourage you to go back and pick your way through the discussion and the various tangents.
Essentially, the fight was over the ticket prices for Seattle's match against the Earthquakes later this year that is being played at Levi's Stadium, the new home of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers.
We're going to avoid opinion on the exchange, you can decide for yourself how you feel about it. We just thought it should be chronicled and brought to your attention.
@WeAreECS @SoundersFC There is more interest in our club here than in Seattle. We command a higher ticket price.

@WeAreECS The match has huge demand. Remember we were playing @MLS soccer here in San Jose when you guys were minor league.

@WeAreECS @SoundersFC Bay Area is larger than Seattle. More total Quakes fans than @SoundersFC fans. Plus, we have two @MLS cups to your 0

@WeAreECS I think the topic is your lack of #devotion You guys cannot afford $50 for a ticket? You paid $100 when U2 showed up

@RealmofHelm @WeAreECS You cannot afford a $55 ticket that is the cheapest in the building? #LackOfDevotion

@WeAreECS We are #SoccerCityUSA Traveling support a fan base does not make.

@WeAreECS Hockey. Someday you may get an @NHL team in Seattle when you guys become a big city.
