Report: DeAndre Yedlin called to United States camp

The rise of the young Sounders FC star is not yet done. Could this be a sign of what is going to happen when the World Cup comes?

Next week's friendly against Mexico is going to see a United States squad of almost 100% MLS players take the pitch in a kind of tune-up prior to the World CupNew American Julian Green will be at the camp. According to Chris Coulter, former Sounder at Heart photographer doing great things elsewhere now, DeAndre Yedlin is going to be one the men in camp.

Steven Goff, Washington Post, predicted that Yedlin would get the invite in his projections. Without invites for players like Geoff Cameron there is room for some experimentation with the call. Goff also expects Luis Gil to make an appearance.

If Yedlin does in fact go it would mean that three Seattle Sounders FC players are on a fairly short list as potential World Cup attendees. In May the World Cup camp opens with the World Cup itself from June 12th to July 13th. MLS teams losing players will face roster pressures throughout that time.

Wednesday's 8 PM match is on ESPN2 and UniMas.
