Stoppage time winner for Columbus

Quick restart on corner crushes Seattle's chance at point while down a man.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Kenny Cooper put Seattle Sounders FC up early, but two calls by the center referee corralled Seattle and brought Columbus Crew a road victory.

There will be a lot of words about this match. They will either focus on the anger from Seattle due to a last second loss, or nationally they will talk about the defensive errors that allowed the referee to make punishing calls.

Most of these words will be wasted. No minds will be changed. The sorrow you feel right now is real. The disappointment is real.

For more than a half Sounders FC dominated play. For less than a half they did not. Almost 60 minutes into the match if felt like victory.

That ended.

It ended hard. It feels unjust.

Higuain netted a PK after a call that makes you angry. Higuain assisted on a corner that restarted without the referees permission. That makes you angry too.

There will be times when anger takes over. In many ways anger is like fear. It is a mind-killer.

Reader: What has that got to do with anything?
Dave: Everything! Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you.

This can not consume you. Make it pass over.

For the result sucks.
