This could very well be DeAndre Yedlin's coming out party. The young American/Sounder is in line for his second cap just months before the World Cup. An intriguing match that is essentially the best natives (and adopted natives) of both the United States and Mexico. That means that Yedlin's Seattle teammate will be doing something quite unique - playing alongside the other men that can be mentioned with him as the best American soccer player at this time. For the first time in about two years Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan and Michael Bradley will be on the pitch at the same time.
The two Sounders are in very different places in their National Team careers. Dempsey is a lock. For Clint this game is about playing within the Klinsmann system with Donovan and Bradley. For Yedlin this is a chance to show that he should go to Brazil. He needs to demonstrate positive steps forward defensively while continuing his great surges forward.
Then there's the little matter of playing Mexico. It's the biggest rivalry for the Nats. Dos e Cero is a legend. That legend will be tested in a much less hostile territory.
