Week eight action saw 26 goals in nine games with four shutouts. Four red cards were shown this week with Dallas getting two.
Here are the Supporters' Shield standings from MLSSoccer.com/Standings which includes the new tie-breakers.

The Top of the West is tight. It's the top of the best in MLS. There are three Western teams earning a point per match or less - San Jose, Chivas USA and Portland.
Seattle Sounders FC has three players in the top 13 for scoring. Dempsey leads the league with 8 goals, outscoring five teams. Oba and Lamar are tied at 13th with three goals. The assists board is also Rave Green. Martins is tied with three players in first with four assists. Three other Sounders (Clint, Gonzalo, Lamar) have three assists and that puts four in the top 16.
This may not be a mirage. Seattle Sounders FC is 5th in shots per game, 4th in pass completion, 5th in winning aerial duels per game, and 3rd in shot rate inside the 6 yard box. But maybe most significantly is that Sigi Schmid's team uses the long ball second least among MLS sides with only 12.4% of passes qualifying as "long" by Opta [WhoScored].
Former Sounder of the Week goes to Mark Burch who did this after the Reserve Game

Next week there will be match reviews again. If you have MLS Live you should watch Salt Lake against Vancouver, but only the first and last ten minutes. If you want a full match take in DC and Dallas.
