MLS Save of the Week: Raul Fernandez robs Clint Dempsey

Usually we are big fans of stuffing the ballot box for our guys, but this is kinda the same thing.

Remember way back to Wednesday? The Seattle Sounders beat FC Dallas 2-1. It was their fifth straight win. Heady days, those.

Well, back in the good ol' days, goalkeepers needed to make amazing saves against our unstoppable players ... and it still wasn't enough. FC Dallas' Raul Fernandez had one of those saves, absolutely robbing Clint Dempsey on a rebound from the doorstep. Seriously, it's nuts. Fernandez saves Osvaldo Alonso's attempt, getting just enough of it to knock the ball off the post, but has the dumb luck of it coming right back to Dempsey who is waiting like a salivating wolf.

Dempsey hits it first time with a flying kick. Fernandez recovers just in time to get the bottom of his boot on the ball and keep it out of the net. Even in a week that saw Jon Busch a nearly as amazing double-save, Fernandez is the clear winner. Do the right thing and vote here.
