Brad Evans on World Cup snub: Ronaldo 'got off easy'

Sounders captain might not be going to Brazil, but his Tweet will likely secure his place in history.

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Brad Evans isn't just a great player, he's also a pretty cool dude. In case you were looking for recent examples, just check out his Tweet after learning he'd been one of the seven final cuts for the United States World Cup team:

Even for a guy who's become known for his Twitter game, that's some pretty next-level stuff. Short, sweet and surely to make sure he keeps his place in Americans' hearts.

Now, the perfect scenario would be for an injury to clear space for Evans in Brazil and allow for this matchup to actually happen. But even if it doesn't, Evans can rest easy that he played a significant role in giving the United States a chance to even get this matchup.

In the meantime, Evans should be joining the Sounders shortly and could possibly be available for Saturday's game against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Nothing like salving wounds by picking up some wins.
