You do not get to relax. You do not get to rest. There are three more World Cup games today. Let's catch up on yesterday for a moment.
Germany crushed Portugal. That helps the USA a bunch, not just due to goal differential, but because the Portuguese played down a man for so long. There may be tired legs.
Iran and Nigeria played to the first draw of World Cup 2014. Don't read about it. It was a boring nil-nil.
USA USA USA!!!! wins 2-1 over Ghana. In case you forgot or something.
Through yesterdays' results matches between Confederations have the following results.
Confederation | Win | Loss | Draw | GD | Points | PPM |
CONCACAF | 3 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 9 | 2.25 |
CONMEBOL | 4 | 2 | 0 | 5 | 12 | 2.00 |
UEFA | 2 | 3 | 0 | -2 | 6 | 1.20 |
CAF | 1 | 2 | 1 | -1 | 4 | 1.00 |
AFC | 0 | 2 | 1 | -3 | 1 | 0.33 |
I'll track this throughout the tourney.
Today's action should be quite fun.

Obviously the biggest game of the day is the hosts taking on Mexico. Brazil looked a little rough in their opening win, but Mexico isn't a defensive stalwart. If Mexico can snag a point here they're basically through. It would also be a shock.
Belgium is a Euro dark horse. They are young, talented and multi-national. Algeria is an intriguing team of mixed heritage. They are the only Arab nation in the tournament.
[insert words about Russia and Korea here] Yeah, ummmm, I don't know. I'll still watch it.
