Australia, Spain and Cameroon are stuck with a dead leg in the tournament after their eliminations yesterday. By the end of today Group C action another team can be out and with Uruguay and England facing off there is a chance that another former Champion gets a meaningless third group match.

The Colombia side has a couple players with MLS history, but not the one we want the most. They dominated a team that is known for defense in their first game. Ivory Coast needed to make a change to beat Japan. Once they inserted Drogba the match shifted.
Uruguay and England both could have had MLS players, but Alvaro Fernandez just missed the cut (he's now a Free). Defoe was also in the 30-man roster, but was only a consideration if an injury occurred it didn't. Their wise managers will look less wise when one probably gets to play a meaningless third game.
The intriguing part about Japan v Greece will be seeing if Asia can get their first win. At this point they look a weak confederation that gets too many teams.
