World Cup 2014 Open Thread: Belgium v Russia, Korea v Algeria

ABC has the 9 AM and Noon action. It's like a really large appetizer as Group H completes their second round.

Later America happens at 3 PM on ESPN, but the supersized appetizer is enough reason to watch soccer all day. The 9 AM ABC match features popular dark horse Belgium against Russia. The Belgians didn't do great against Algeria in their first match, but a more traditional opponent could be just what they need to take control of Group H.

The Noon ABC game is less exciting. Korea and Algeria struggle for survival. A second loss by the Fennecs would put them out of the tournament. A loss by the Republic of Korea puts them in a must win and some other stuff with the Belgians (if I did the maths thing correctly).

Group H's winner faces Group G's (America's Group) second place. Group G's winner faces second place. Consider the ABC games as scouting for the knockout rounds.
