Soccer is the perfect sport for people who love to celebrate. No, we don't necessarily get to do it a lot, but that's what makes it fun. And even when the result isn't exactly what you wanted, there are often moments where we get to jump up and down and feel, at least for a moment, that we are on top of the world.
Sunday, we got two of those moments. For 60-odd minutes, it seemed like the United States was destined to go down to defeat. But then Jermain Jones hit an absolute stunner to equalize. As the video above shows, people were almost literally losing their mind.
As if that wasn't enough, the U.S. pulled ahead about 15 minutes later on Clint Dempsey's goal. King 5 caught the reaction to that one too.
Disappointing result aside, it was a great day to be in Pioneer Square where there appear to have been thousands of people gathered at Fuel's block party. Maybe we do it all again on Thursday?
