Seattle Sounders FC announced today that Josh Ford would be on loan to the Orange County Blues of the USL PRO until June 14th. Ford will be eligible for selection for three matches with the third division team. This is his second short term loan to the SoCal club. The first time he earned a shutout win against Oklahoma City Energy FC, also assisting on the game winning goal.
With the Reserve League schedule on a long break, the next match is September 13th, the club will need to find ways to get playing time for those on the roster that aren't in the US Open Cup picture. It's of little surprise that the third keeper is getting a loan right now. He is one of four healthy players that have yet to see the pitch in action with the First Team (Estrada, Kovar and Periera are the others).
Ford does have three Reserve League appearances this year and ten on his career, but still has not logged a competitive minute for Sounders FC.
