World Cup 2014 Open Thread - Brazil v Netherlands

It's the ever valuable third place match. ESPN is showing the match at 1 PM with coverage starting prior to that.

I'm going to miss watching the World Cup. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO STOP?

1 PM - ESPN

Forever non-winners (when will soccer ever make it in the Netherlands?) against the one-time favorites. There is absolutely no reason to watch this match. Few care if they finish third. It's practically a youth tournament thing trying to slot every side neatly into a ranking.

But there are amazing reasons to watch this match.

It's going to be a goal fest. Not because Brazil is leaking goals these days, but because it almost takes on the carefree attitude of an All Star Game. This is almost like having two sets of the greatest internationals play soccer purely for joy.

Here's the other thing, this World Cup is almost over and will disappear for three years and eleven months. Do you really want that to miss one of your last chances to see this grandeur?

SB Nation's 2014 World Cup Final Preview

It's a casual Saturday. It's hot here in Seattle. There's MLS on the TV and you lack AC at home. Go out somewhere and watch amazing happen, and then watch some MLS this evening.

This is your second to last World Cup Open Thread.
