For the second time this season David Estrada has apparently been sent out on a short-term loan. This time his destination is the Charlotte Eagles of USL PRO or at least that's how it looks according to this lineup tweeted out by the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. (Update: Sounders confirmed the loan.)
The Eagles have a record of 5-10-3 -5 and need some help. Over the next month Seattle Sounders FC only have a single match a week, so this may be the first of several loans. That pace ends with the US Open Cup semi against Chicago Fire. Charlotte has six matches in that same time.
Estrada only has one MLS appearance with Sounders FC this season, with a mere five minutes played. In Open Cup play he has 90 minutes with an assist.
He will be joining a USL PRO side with former Sounder Doug Herrick and former Sounder U-23 David Geno. The Eagles do not have an affiliation with an MLS club, but do have two Fire players on loan (keeper Alec Kahn and forward Giuseppe Gentile).
Sounders FC will be able to recall Estrada if his services are needed with the First Team.
