It's time for some Monday Night Football! (Thanks, LikkitP) Let's examine some of the players to watch and look at how the Seattle Sounders compare to the LA Galaxy ahead of Monday's evening match at CenturyLink Field.
First, in case you don't notice in the summary above or the graphic below, please don't forget that the game has moved to MONDAY, July 28 at 7 p.m. I repeat: MONDAY at 7 p.m.
Player / Injury Updates
Both teams should be near full strength for Monday's game. Omar Gonzalez is nursing an ankle injury, but is expected to play. He was an unused sub during the Galaxy's 7-0 loss to Manchester United.
Interesting Stats
Read through the Team Weaknesses (identified by WhoScored.com) and you'll notice one controversial point appears for both teams. Good thing the Sounders have a lot of skilled players. WhoScored believes this is the Galaxy's only identifiable weakness. Perhaps that Sounders can uncover and exploit a few more.
Take a look at when the Sounders and Galaxy score and concede goals. The last 30 minutes should be fun.
The Galaxy only commit 11 fouls per game, and average 1.12 yellow cards per game, compared to the Sounders' 1.56.
Our last two battles against the Galaxy have resulted in a 1-1 draw. Let's hope we get more than one goal this game, but that we remain #1 in the West, in the running for the Supporters' Shield, and in MLS Power Rankings!
