There are a lot of rumors circling around DeAndre Yedlin's future. Roma supposedly is interested, Anderlecht is said to be fond of him and there's a patently ridiculous rumor that he might trial with Liverpool this summer. Expect this kind of stuff to become the norm over the coming weeks and maybe years.
It would be a waste of time to chase down all of these rumors, some of which are invented from thin air. The easiest way to see how ridiculous a rumor might be is to ask yourself a simple question "Does it make sense?" And when asking yourself that, keep this Facebook Q&A in mind:
There's a recurring theme there: Yedlin loves himself some Seattle and for the Sounders. His favorite videogame console? Sounders sponsor XBox One. What's next for him? Winning MLS Cup with the Sounders. His favorite team other than the Sounders? The Seattle Reign. Will he be attending Wednesday's U.S. Open Cup game against the Portland Timbers whether he plays or not? "Of course."
None of these answers suggest Yedlin is quite ready to write his ticket away from town. Might he? Unquestionably, if the right offer comes along. But Yedlin and the Sounders are both well aware that if something doesn't happen this summer, the offers aren't going away anytime soon. The only way Yedlin leaves before the end of the season is if someone comes with an offer that might never come again. So far, none of these rumors seem quite that intriguing.
