Stefan Frei nominated for Save of the Week

Sure, you can argue that Stefan Frei was off his line, allowing him to stop Brad Davis' penalty attempt on Sunday. And you'd be right. But don't discount how tough of a save that was. Davis tried the old-stutter step and seemed to get caught, actually coming to a complete stop (which itself is illegal) but still managed to fire off a pretty good shot.

Frei, who has been much maligned by the fan base throughout the year came up huge. The save turned the game's momentum and allowed the Sounders to get to 2-0 victory. The win ended a two-game losing streak and put the Sounders back on top of the Supporters' Shield standings, as well as atop the Western Conference.

Especially in a week where no save really stood out as exemplary, Frei deserves the vote. Go ahead and do it here.
