Kim Little has been named the NWSL Player of the Month. Again. July marks the third time in four months that Little has won the award and at this point it would be a massive shock if she didn't win the league's MVP award.
The award was particularly well deserving this month. Little appeared in all six of the Reign's matches, helping lead them to a 4-1-1 record as they clinched the NWSL Shield with four matches left to play. Along the way, Little tallied four goals and four assists. Among those goals was this absolute beauty that, frankly, has not received the love that it truly deserves.
But seriously, that first touch, right? It's just sublime, the way she wraps her foot around the defender, passes it back to herself and then finishes inside the near post.
Little may not have been particularly well known outside of the diehard women's soccer fans before this season, but with a league-leading 14 goals and six assists (one short of the league lead), it's safe to say she's well known now.
