Major Link Soccer: MLS Wins, Pep peps, transfer deadline passes

The League's All Stars beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in a match that got chippy. Pep didn't like that. Some teams got new players!

All Star Game Victory

Two-one over Bayern Munich. Now MLS will have all the respect of the world. It was a mostly entertaining match and the worst injury looks to be minor at worst. Alonso earned his yellow card, his second in his last two friendlies. BWP and Landon scored for the League. Dempsey, Martins and Yedlin only played the first half and each looked pretty good while doing it.

Pep was upset and refused to shake Caleb Porter's hand.

MLS Transfer Deadline Deals

The Galaxy are making a major announcement of a signing. At one point it looked like this was a loan deal for American Sacha Kljestan. That may no longer be true (read the comments).

Orlando City signed two players from Benfica's U-19 team. You don't need to know their names yet. They won't be joining the side until it is actually in MLS.

RSL didn't sign a player, at least they didn't announce the signing of Sebastian Jamie, but that may still happen. Maybe the paperwork is done and Salt Lake just has some follow-up moves to make.

Dallas loaned one of their young players to Bayamon FC. Bayamon is in the Puerto Rico Soccer League and the CCL. It's an intriguing idea. The league isn't good, but the CCL is quality time. He should play a bunch.

MLS may be the group of nerds that a cutie flirts with a lot but they never get anywhere. Portland almost got Mixx. Yesterday, Columbus almost got Mixx. Next window another team will almost get Mixx. No one is getting Mixx.

Chivas USA is staying in LA, even in StubHub for another year at least. They sold on-loan player Jose Correa and acquired Felix Borja from LDU Quito.

Did you know that Canada isn't in the USA? TFC learned that today as they recalled an on-loan keeper now rather than not have him available after the transfer deadline passes while he was in Wilmington.

Seattle Soccer

Zach Scott is awesome. We at Sounder at Heart know this. Now everyone that reads the Seattle Weekly knows it too.

Other Neat Stuff

Some older players in the Philippines are refusing to play for USMNT legend Thomas Dooley. They aren't upset with his record. They're mad that they aren't playing while he's leading the AFC minnow to wins.

The International Champions Cup (played between club teams that mostly aren't champions) is so popular in the USA that they are going to start a second version in Asia. The ICC may even have the Asia winner play against the North America winner. European clubs will make money doing this because some people think this is a real trophy. Those people are called Manchester United.

FIFA 15 will include every stadium in the 2014-15 EPL. Hooray! It still will only include BC Place from North America, mainly because it's really close to their offices.
